Meet Report

13th to 15th January 2023 - Anderson Lodge Lagganlia , Lagganlia

Nice to be back at Lagganlia again,staying in a freshly refurbished Anderson Lodge. 

With a decidedly mixed forecast for the weekend ,Saturday saw Katrina and Clare A head for Geal Charn Mor , with Tim D, Richard and Judit opting for Sgorr Gaoith whilst Tim N,David  and myself headed along Glen Tromie for Meallach Mor  .

Some wonderful views with clear blue skies and sunshine especially in the early part of the day. A lot of snow getting blown about though!

With a higher avalanche forecast on Sunday climbing plans were shelved and a group consisting of Tim D, Tim N , David , Judit ,Richard and Keith headed for Geal Charn Mor. A lovely day for it with stunning views over to the Cairngorms on the way up but pretty wild conditions on the summit!

Meanwhile Katrina, Clare A (joined by revered ex president Claire H) opted for a circuit of Gairbeinn and Corrieyairack hill which involved mainly postholing through deep snow in whiteout conditions. Lovely stuff!
