Meet Report

29th to 31st July 2022 - CIC hut, Ben Nevis

A fun time for my first outing as meet organiser. A relatively late start saw most of us get to the hut (shlepping big rucksacks for the most part!) just before dark....as the rain started. A very atmospheric first night in the hut with high winds and torrential rain. Saturday was fairly unsettled so most folk had a relaxed morning with most of us heading out at about 1 o'clock. Duncan , Doug , Chris W and myself heading for Castle Ridge , Danny for Tower Ridge (Brave!!) , Chris R for Ledge Route, David heading for the summit of Carn Mor Dearg and Richard and Judit heading for a walk back down and over to the Lochan. No views but a good time was had by all (special mention to Doug for supplying beers at the end of the day and also to Judit for drawing a wonderful sketch of the hut with N/Buttress behind)

After a night with whisky and much banter including hilarity at my (seeming) inability to prepare hot food ! Sunday dawned calm and clear and promising a beautiful , settled day in the offing. Two teams headed for Tower Ridge Duncan/David and Chris W/Keith with Danny and Doug going for North Buttress and Richard , Judit and Chris R all heading for the CMD. An absolutely cracking day for it and one of the most fun meets I've been on . Thanks to everyone for making it such a fun trip and a good experience for my first meet in an "official" capacity!
