Meet Report

18th to 20th June 2010 - Lochy Holiday Park, Corpach

This was a camping meet blessed with good weather! On Saturday, Allan, Kate and Fiona C drove along Loch Arkaig and did Sgurr na Ciche, Garbh Cioch Mhor and Sgurr nan Coireachan whilst Gillian did the Corbett Sgurr na h-Aide opposite. This was a fabulous day with unbroken sunshine and brilliant views. Meanwhile, Mike, Fiona R, Alison, Kenny, Chris, Ron and Calum had a phased assault on Raeburns Arete and North East buttress on the Ben. A bit chilly on the belays but a cracking day out. With such good weather and many folks doing a long day the local chippy had quite a few takers. Gillian did her best to give the local seagulls a coronary by inadvertently leaving the remains of her dinner out for them to munch.

On both evenings, Alison and Kenny's family sized tent proved useful for hiding from the midges.

On Sunday the weather again was glorious. The midges were unfortunately oblivious to this and saw several people making a run for the shower block when they emerged from their tents in the morning. Kenny, Alison and Chris headed off to Ardgour to tackle the classic route Butterknife. Mike and Fiona opted for some corbett bagging on Fraochaidh.
